Berkeley Social Club Menu

Price: $$-$$$

Restaurant Details

The name doesn’t exactly scream “Korean restaurant.” Then again, Berkeley Social Club aspires to be anything but traditional. Co-owned by the restaurateur Steven Choi, who runs several other Bay Area dining establishments, the restaurant is perhaps best known for its breakfast menu, which features a mix of Korean-fusion takes on classic American brunch standards: Korean fried chicken and waffles, a scallion pancake topped with a poached egg, and something called Millionaire’s Bacon (which actually isn’t particularly Korean at all). Dinner is more straightforwardly Korean, but chef Nick Yoon’s dishes tend to be modern, upscale reinterpretations of the kinds of things you’d find at a more traditional mom-and-pop Korean restaurant. There’s a large outdoor patio and a wide selection of draft beer.
