Berkeley Hills Road Race

When: Sun., May 11, 6 a.m. 2008

The 51st annual Berkeley Hills Road Race doesn't start or finish in Berkley, but Berkeley will be a winner anyway. The bicyclists will compete for up to $500 prizes, with a percentage of the proceeds going to the Berkeley YMCA Youth Program. The participants range from "elite pros" of both genders all the way down to juniors age fourteen and under. They'll start at the East San Pablo Reservoir Boat Launch and ride from Orinda in a loop around Bear Creek Road, the number of laps depending on the skill level of the cyclist. Registration closes at 6 a.m. on race day, Sunday, May 11. Contact for early registration.
