Stoopid situations arise when a single airline flight attendant (Paula Patton) decides she must get engaged – never mind why – in thirty days’ time, with the help of friends who fix her up with a chain of unsuitable prospects. She “accidentally” runs into them, etc. The plot is so non-threatening it actually becomes abusive. Other than Patton and the rest of large cast (Derek Luke, Jill Scott, Trey Songz, Taye Diggs, Djimon Hounsou, Catherine Moore, Tyler Lepley, et al.), it’s practically a one-man show by David E. Talbert, who adapted the screenplay from his own novel and directed. Not very challenging (96 min.).
