An Evening of Poetry & Prose

When: Thu., March 30, 7-9 p.m. 2017

Celebrated poet/songwriter Larry Beckett will read from his epic poem, Paul Bunyan, for the first time in the Bay Area. Beckett’s “Song to the Siren,” which he wrote with Tim Buckley, was covered by Robert Plant, Bryan Ferry, George Michael and Sinead O’Connor. Joining Beckett is novelist and former Rolling Stone Senior Writer Michael Goldberg, reading from “Untitled,” the third volume of his Freak Scene Dream Trilogy, a rock ‘n’ roil coming-of-age story set in the late Sixties and early Seventies. Rolling Stone wrote: “If Lester Bangs had ever published a novel it might read something like this frothing debut."
