The best thing about Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem is that, unlike the original 2004 match-up of iconic sci-fi movie monsters, this one is proudly rated R. This means more explosive chest, head, and alien action, which, at this point in the two series checkered lives, is pretty much what its all about. If youre into specifics, the warring species land on a rural US town where common folk with no ability to comprehend multi-alien invasions must find some way to survive the mayhem. There are some creative scares this time around, but the small-town settings role in classic-monster-movie heritage is never properly exploited and predaliens with dreadlocks are so laughable that the movie immediately boxes itself into the fun, but dismissible B-movie category (86 min., 2007).
