Alfredo Rodriguez, up and coming Cuban jazz piano star

When: Fri., Dec. 15 2017

Presented by San Francisco Performances

Grammy-nominated jazz pianist, Alfredo Rodriguez, reflects the talents of legendary jazz pianists Keith Jarrett, Thelonious Monk, and Art Tatum. In 2009 he emigrated from Cuba to Los Angeles with a suitcase full of music, a sweater and a pair of jeans after the legendary Quincy Jones heard him play at the Montreux Festival and took him under his wing.

“Alfredo is very special and I do not say that easily,” notes Quincy Jones. “He is without a doubt one of the best young pianists I’ve ever seen and with the enormous skills that he already possesses, his potential is limitless.”
