AfroCuban Icons and Images: Interactive Presentation and Art Exhibit Directly from Cuba

When: Sat., July 1, 7-9:30 p.m. 2017

This event is primarily in Spanish, but there will be an English interpreter. Directly from Cuba and for the first time in the Bay Area, this workshop will be presented by Myrna Dickson, the co-founder and coordinator of the independent artistic-social collective “MirArte DiaDía“. Myrna is Afrocubana, feminist, activist, artist and popular educator. In MirArte DiaDía, the art collective works with diverse social groups in vulnerable situations. These activists use creativity and popular education as a vehicle for social transformation. Join us at La Peña for an art exhibit, interactive presentation, performance, and dialogue with Myrna, Angie Holiday.
