Brian is a first-year student at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. He’s reported on crime, government, health epidemics, and rollerblading (Yes, rollerblading) for more than a decade. Originally from the Midwest where he won state awards for spot news and investigative reporting, he sold nearly everything he owned and moved to the Bay Area in 2009.

Rosa is a graduate student at the UC Berkeley School of Journalism, where she studies narrative writing and photography. Her recent reporting has focused on education and youth issues in Oakland, and the city's fire department.
