3rd Anniversary Party and Benefit for Cycles of Change APC

When: Sun., Sept. 27, 1-4 p.m. 2009

Biking is more than just a form of transportation of exercise; it amounts to a lifestyle choice. In fact, some folks would argue that bicycles represent a newer, slower, more ecologically friendly vision of civil society. Most likely the folks at Alameda's Cycles of Change APC Community Bike Shop (650 W. Ranger Ave.) subscribe to such ideals. Formed in 2006, the shop is a collaboration between the EastBay's decade-old Cycles of Change bike education program and the local housing nonprofit Alameda Point Collaborative. As part of its mission, the shop offers regular mechanics classes, used bikes for sale, job training, and DIY repair programs in an each-one teach-one format. Cycles of Change APC will hold its 3rd anniversary fund-raiser party on Sunday, Sept. 27. 1-4 p.m. Pizza, sorbet, drinks, and entertainment will be provided.
