Oafs in an uproar as ancient Greek history is once again turned into a bad video game. Nasty Artemisia (Eva Green) leads the Persian fleet against Themistokles (Sullivan Stapleton) and his muscle-bound Greeks. Ultra-CGI. The weather is always stormy. Slo-mo blood sprays. Incredibly stupid dialogue. Sets new standards for silly male jewelry. Suicide bomber. Ends many times before it’s finally over. The Greeks have a word for it. This entry in the joke-franchise started by graphic novelist Frank Miller, directed by Noam Murro from a screenplay by 300 regulars Zack Snyder and Kurt Johnstad, is not quite bad enough to really be funny (103 min.).
