24-Hour Playfest

When: Mon., March 3, 8 p.m. 2008

Woman's Will may be the Bay Area's all-female Shakespeare troupe, but for the tenth year running it also puts on an annual 24-Hour Playfest, which doesn't actually involve an all-day, all-night marathon of play watching. (Leave your sleeping bags at home.) Instead, it's a two-hour showcase of the short plays that seven female playwrights, seven female directors and about 35 actors have managed to write and rehearse from scratch on a given theme within the previous 22 hours. Previous themes have included the seven seals, dwarves, seas, deadly sins, and habits of highly effective people. March 3 at the JuliaMorganCenter for the Arts (2640 College Ave., Berkeley) or 510-420-0813.
