14th Collages des Cultures Africaines

For 35 years, Oakland nonprofit DiamanoCoura West African Dance Company has been dedicated to the preservation, education, and appreciation of West African music, theater, culture, and dance. This week, it hosts its annual Collage des Cultures Africaines, featuring four days of workshops and classes on African dance, music, and history. On Saturday, Mar. 14 at the Berkeley Community Theatre (1930 Allston Way), thirty music and dance experts from Africa will perform in one performance, "Drum Call," which will be preceded by an African marketplace.
