If you believe that UFOs are real — which, incidentally, more than half of Americans do — you have no shortage of very big questions to wrestle with. Who are these visitors, what do they want, and why in God’s name do they keep coming back to such a screwy planet as ours? Researchers into such topics essentially divide into two camps: those who believe extraterrestrials have sinister, or at least principally self-serving intentions, and those who believe ETs are making contact out of compassion for humanity and a sense of cosmic responsibility. The leading organization on the optimistic side is the Academy of Clinical Close Encounter Therapists (ACCET), which is hosting “Star Kids and Star Seeds: Helpers in These Times of Transition,” the first conference dedicated to “presenting[ing] knowledge about the special persons of hybrid Star Nation (ET) ancestry and consciousness who are growing up, or already grown and operating among us,” according to its brochure.
Dr. Richard Boylan, a psychologist and ET researcher, founded ACCET in 1994 as a support system and knowledge share for therapists working with UFO contactees. He says, “We have an unique situation in that it’s a tax exempt organization recognized by the federal government to work with people who’ve had visits from beings inside of UFOs, which the federal government does not recognize exists. I think that’s interestingly ironic.”
ACCET researchers believe that ETs (whom they call Star Visitors) have been contacting select humans over the years to share messages and even to modify them genetically — a special group they refer to as Star Kids (minors) and Star Seeds (adults). The grand project of the Star Visitors is nothing less than saving mankind from its looming self-destruction and assimilating it peacefully into the larger federation of Star Nations.
“What we’re seeing is not just individual modifications,” Boylan explains. “The whole human race is being slowly transformed, one kid at a time if you will. Hundreds of thousands are being visited, so the ripples are going through the whole gene pool. The young adult Star Seeds who are coming of age now are, in my analysis, the vanguard, the elite leadership types who are going to move our society in dramatically forward ways and are going to be particularly well equipped to interface with Star Visitors as they come more out in the open.”
Boylan supposes that full governmental disclosure and acknowledgment of UFO reality is imminent, most likely to be complete by 2006. “As society goes through these dramatic changes, we’ll need some people who have a handle on what’s happening and are able to interface with Star Visitors as go-betweens between the two populations.”
The centerpiece of the conference will be a panel of five or so Star Kids and their parents, plus a panel of Star Seeds. In addition to Boylan, speakers and workshop leaders include Dr. Leo Sprinkle, a former University of Wyoming professor who’s been conducting encounter research for over forty years; retired Defense Intelligence Agency insider John Maynard, and former LA Times city editor Phil Krapf, author of The Challenge of Contact and a contact himself. “If you come to the conference,” Boylan promises, “you will hear about where the entire human race is going.”
