.Prettiest Place to Get Married

Brazilian Room

In the midst of Berkeley’s famed Tilden Park, the Brazilian Room offers a gorgeous setting for soirees of any sort, but it’s especially captivating and romantic as a wedding location. The building earned its namesake from — you guessed it — Brazil. It was actually gifted to the East Bay Regional Parks by that country after spending some time on Treasure Island during the 1939 Golden Gate Exposition. Ceremonies can take place outdoors on a large flagstone patio surrounded by flowering trees and gardens with views of the park’s lush hillsides in the background. The huge grassy area is a great place for the kids to amuse themselves and burn off their wedding cake buzz. The building itself is just as striking — it feels like a very large, yet cozy, wood cabin with its vaulted ceilings, walls of leaded-glass windows, and rich wood paneling. The rustic setting is completed by a huge stone fireplace, which is great for warming up the room on a cool winter’s day.
