Spend a few minutes inside Eudemonia, Berkeley’s most popular cybercafe, and you might find yourself unable to leave. If you’re of the Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh, or Dungeons and Dragons persuasion, you’ll see that there are always opponents here to challenge, or dungeon masters to throw in with. If you’re more of a videogamer, the bevy of gaming PCs here will suck you right in with World of Warcraft, Battlefield 2, or Command and Conquer. Either way, Eudemonia is the sort of gaming establishment that rapidly eliminates your desire to leave. On Friday nights the place is packed wall to wall with gamers of all stripes, and any reasonably popular board, card, or role-playing game can be found spread across one of the store’s many gaming tables. There’s even a back room in which the role players can hide from the clattering dice, triumphant hollers, and constant Comic Book Guy impressions. Best game store ever!
