Jerry Brown has the second lowest approval rating of any California governor at this stage of his of his tenure, but pollster Mark DiCamillo of the Field Poll says things could get worse for Brown before they get better, the Chron reports. Because of disappointing state tax revenues, California likely will have to slash $2 billion in spending in January, primarily to K-12 education, a move that could push Brown’s approval ratings farther downward. Currently, Brown has a 47 percent approval rating — only Pete Wilson had a lower one at this stage of his governorship: 45 percent.
