The Pentagon announced that it’s accepting openly gay recruits for military service for the first time in the nation’s history, following a decision by a California federal judge to overturn “don’t ask, don’t tell,” AP reports. Military recruiters, however, are warning gay enlistees that the new policy might change if the Obama administration’s appeal of the judge’s ruling is successful. Yesterday, federal Judge Virginia Phillips denied the Justice Department’s request to stay her order that overturned DADT until the appeals process is over.
