State Attorney General Jerry Brown has decided to not prosecute the community group, ACORN, following an investigation into a sting operation by young conservatives who succeeded in putting the organization out of business. Brown, however, concluded that some ACORN employees were wrong to have destroyed some of the group’s records. Brown also noted that the conservative activists had heavily edited undercover videos to make it look as if ACORN employees were engaged in lawbreaking, when they weren’t. Brown gave the conservative activists immunity in exchange for all of their unedited tapes.
