A memorial has been scheduled for this Friday for former Oakland school board member Jason Hodge, who died unexpectedly on Sunday. Hodge was 34, and the cause of his death is still undetermined, according to the Vallejo Times Herald. For the past several years, Hodge had been the spokesman for the Vallejo Unified School District. His memorial is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday at Center of Hope Community Church, 8411 MacArthur Blvd, Oakland.
Hodge was found dead by his mother on Sunday at his home after police notified her that his home alarm had been set off. The Alameda County Coroner’s Office said the initial autopsy was inconclusive and that it needed to conduct more tests to determine Hodge’s cause of death.
UPDATE: According to Hodge's family, Hodge's mother found him in a semi-unconscious state at his home. He was then taken to Highland Hospital, where he later died.
