.Jobless Numbers Improve Slightly

The nation’s unemployment rate dropped slightly to 10 percent last month, down from a high of 10.2 percent in October. The underemployment rate, which also includes part-time workers and people who have stopped looking for jobs, also fell slightly to 17.2 percent in November compared to 17.5 percent the month before. However, about 15.4 million people who are looking for work remain jobless. It’s also getting more difficult to find jobs, as the average time it takes people to find work — or give up — has risen to more than 28 weeks, the longest on record.
