Robert Bobb Officially Out of Mayor's Race

Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm formally announced today that ex-Oakland City Manager Robert Bobb is staying on as the financial czar of Detroit Public Schools through early 2011, according to the Detroit Free Press. Bobb accompanied Granholm for the announcement. The announcement rules out the possibility of Bobb returning to Oakland and running for mayor.

Bobb had said earlier this year that he was thinking of coming back to Oakland and launching a mayoral campaign, but he later changed his mind and said he wanted to remain in Detroit to finish his work, turning around the nation's most troubled school district.
