Your Black Muslim Bakery member Devaughndre Broussard pleaded guilty to two counts of voluntary manslaughter for assassinating journalist Chauncey Bailey in 2007, according to the Trib and the Chron. The plea deal with prosecutors allows Broussard to avoid murder charges in exchange for testifying against bakery CEO Yusuf Bey IV and fellow bakery member Antoine Mackey. Broussard has told prosecutors that Bey IV ordered him to kill Bailey and that Mackey was the getaway driver. As part of the plea deal, Broussard also pleaded guilty to killing another man, Odell Roberson. Broussard is to be sentenced to 25 years in prison.
