So is UCLA becoming a more sought after school than Berkeley? Well, this year it was tougher for freshmen to get into UCLA than UC Berkeley, according to the Chron. UCLA accepted just 21.4 percent of applicants for the coming fall semester, making it the toughest to get into of all UC campuses. Berkeley accepted 21.6 percent of applicants for the fall semester, plus more for the spring 2010 semester, bringing the school’s total acceptance rate to 26.6 percent for next school year. Overall, the UC system was much tougher to get into this year. Even though the system received a record number of applicants, it still stuck with its plans to accept 2,300 fewer students than last year.
