Members of the Oakland Police Department are reeling today at the news of three cops shot and killed in Pennsylvania.
OPD public information officer Jeffrey Thomason sent us this bulletin moments ago:
"The members of the Oakland Police Department are shocked and saddened by the news that is coming out of Pittsburgh, PA today. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the fallen officers and to all of the fine members of the Pittsburgh Police Department. Unfortunately the members of the Oakland Police Department know all too well what they are going through during this unspeakably tragic time. We know that the extended law enforcement community will support and comfort the Pittsburgh Police Department as they did us over the past two weeks. Oakland Police Chief Howard Jordan has been in contact with the Pittsburgh Police Department. We are prepared to offer any help or support that we can possibly give to the Pittsburgh Police Department now and in the difficult days and weeks to come."
