.A’s to Oakland: Buzz Off

Oakland A’s owner Lew Wolff has rejected the city of Oakland’s latest attempt to keep the team from leaving. The city, led by Mayor Ron Dellums, had sent a letter to Major League Baseball and planned to form a task to find a way to keep the team in Oakland — now that its plans for a Fremont ballpark are dead. But in a statement, Wolff said that ship has past. Money quote: “We have fully exhausted our time and resources over the years with the City of Oakland, dating back to previous A’s ownership…. We have no interest in covering old ground again, as we need to move forward in finding a future home for our team.”
