The dispute over what to do with the thirty-acre stretch of land along the Albany shoreline seems to be on hold as long as budget woes are the top concern for state lawmakers, reports the Chron. The combination homeless camp, artist playground, and junkyard that sits on landfill is part of the East Shore State Park, which the East Bay Regional Park District manages and has been cleaning up for bicyclists and nature lovers. The City of Albany, the state, and the EBRPD has been in conflict over what to do with the Bulb: Leave it be? Impose some regulations but let the free-spirited types stay? Make it more park-like?
