Deborah Edgerly, the former city administrator that did so much for Oakland's finances and public image, has filed a wrongful termination claim against the city of Oakland, sez the Trib. She's claiming that her reputation was impugned by Mayor Ron Dellums, the one guy who did everything to keep her happy. Her lawyer, John Scott, claims that just because Edgerly's position was at-will doesn't mean the city gets to fire her unlawfully. Check out his money quote: "There was no wrongdoing regarding anything she did." Edgerly is seeking unspecified monetary damages, but we suspect she's really seeking the rehabilitation of her reputation. Good luck with that, hon.
