Actually, make that $89 million. As Barack Obama mulls over the details of his economic stimulus package, the Oakland City Council has put together a wish list of $89 million in infrastructure projects that they hope he’ll see fit to fund. According to the Tribune, this includes $20 million for the Oakland Community Land Trust to buy and rehab foreclosed properties. If the incoming president plays ball, the projects could result in 1,043 new jobs. Hey, it doesn’t hurt to ask.
