Looks like Oakland City Council President Ignacio De la Fuente may be $1,500 poorer, courtesy of the Fair Political Practices Commission. By law, city councilmembers couldn't accept more than $340 in gifts from the same person in 2004; that figure rose to $360 in 2005. But during those years, De la Fuente parked for free at the San Francisco airport, racking up $2,331 in free parking. The councilman repaid the money when the story came to light, but according to the Oakland Tribune, an FPPC report recommends fining that naughty boy an additional $1,500. "You know what? It's done. That's all I have to say," De la Fuente told the Trib.
