Nice blog post by Trib political reporter Josh Richman, in which he notices that state Assemblyman Sandre Swanson, who barely campaigned at all and still won with 88 percent of the vote, is still holding fundraisers. This Saturday, Swanson is throwing a $100-a-plate party at Scott's Seafood Restaurant; Babs Lee and Loni Hancock will attend, among others. Richman also tallies up all the restaurants where Swanson strapped on his feedbag and billed his campaign for the munchfests. Swanson doesn't need the cash himself, but if he spreads it around and helps out candidates who do, he'll build juice in the Assembly. And it's always nice to eat on someone else's dime.
