Lawyers have now filed a second federal lawsuit against the Oakland cops, as the fallout from the police search warrant scandal continues. A group of officers cooked up evidence to secure phone search warrants and go after drug dealers in East Oakland, and now that their hanky-panky has been exposed, at least forty criminal cases may ultimately be overturn. According to the Oakland Tribune, attorneys John Burris and Nicole Hodge-Amey have both filed suits on behalf of clients who claim the cops used the bogus warrants to break in and trash their homes.
