In response to rising complaints from attorneys general around the country, Craigslist has announced that strippers and escorts will no longer be able to sell their services for free. Instead, the erotic entrepreneurs will have to pay a minor fee with a credit card, mostly so prosecutors on the hooker hunt can more easily identify them should they ever subpoena Craigslist records. This won’t end online prostitution, of course, but according to the Chron, prostitutes are expected to flee Craigslist.
