According to the national TV networks' exit polling, blacks in California, who came out in big numbers to support Barack Obama, voted overwhelming for Proposition 8, the statewide measure that outlawed gay marriage -- by 70 percent to 30 percent. Older voters also went strongly for Prop. 8, but they were always expected to do so.
As of this morning, the measure was winnning 52 to 48 percent with 96 percent of the vote counted. It should win easily because the two big counties that have yet to complete their counting are San Bernadino and Riverside -- both Republican strongholds.
