To avoid biting the nearest police officer, please eat before riding BART
. (Not on BART, as that's against the rules.) A bulletin just received from the BART Police Department reveals that yesterday at Fremont station, "an officer attempted to detain a suspected fare evader. The 36-year-old male suspect punched the officer and bit the officer's thumb while resisting the detention. The suspect was eventually taken into custody and transported to a nearby hospital. The suspect had extremely-low blood sugar, claimed to have no memory of the incident, and may have been in diabetic shock. The officer was treated at the hospital and released. Due to the suspect being hospitalized, this case will be forwarded to the district attorney for review."
