Meet the New Haas Business School Dean

The Contra Costa Times has a long profile of Richard Lyons, the incoming dean of the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business. And from the looks of things, Cal tapped a man who knows the culture of Haas intimately, but has spent much more time in academia than on Wall Street. Although he just finished two years as Goldman Sachs' chief learning officer, Lyons had previously taught at Haas for ten years and served as acting dean in 2004-05. According to the Times, previous deans had focused on building an independent cash flow for the school, and Lyons wants to spend some of that money attracting top talent to the faculty.
