This one will actually go to November as a contested election. Former Green Party star and AC Transit board member Rebecca Kaplan grabbed the most votes, with 39 percent. But what’s this? Coming up behind is former Perata protege and surprisingly independent Oakland school board member Kerry Hamill, with 21 percent. Looks like we got ourselves a good old-fashioned runoff, and between two completely different candidates. As for the rest of the field: promise us we’ll stay in touch, okay?
