Right now Buy Curious is out gallivanting around Italy, eating overpriced gelato and realizing that the dollar ain't worth squat. (Don't feel too bad for us, though, we are still shopping.) But we haven't forgotten about you, dear reader. Here's the scoop on this weekend's fashionable happenings, including (I'm so jealous) the bi-annual Capsule Design Fair in Hayes Valley. Details after the jump
Capsule Design Fair
Oodles of vendors hawking their goods fill the streets of the trendy Hayes Valley District at the bi-annual Capsule Design Fair. Last year, I scored a great leather handbag (on sale!) that's been slung over my shoulder ever since. Jewelry, T-shirts, and accessories are the main items here, but there's also Djs, art, and happenings simultaneously at nearby boutiques. An event not to be missed!
When: Sunday, May 25, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
Where: Hayes Valley Park, Octavia and Hayes sts., San Francisco
Dinner & Couture
This event promises an evening of "fashion, cuisine, and soulful sounds" at Julie's Supper Club. "DINNER & COUTURE is a collective effort to promote and display the talent and sophistication of our very own local designers," reads the press release. "The fusion of a sit down trendy supper club, live music and haute couture seem to encompass the very essence that has inspired the creation of DINNER & COUTURE." Each month features a different local designer, and this month's is Chan.nel Karama.
When: Sunday, May 25, 6 p.m.-midnight
Where: Julie's Supper Club (1123 Folsom St., San Francisco)
Alameda Antiques Faire
The Alameda Point Antiques and Collectibles Faire happens every first Sunday, features acres of antique goods, and irresistible kettle corn.
When: Sunday, May 25, 6 a.m.-5 p.m.
Where: The old navy base - click here for directions.
How much: Depends what time you get there. But after 9 a.m., it's just $5. Got a tip for Buy Curious? Store opening? Sale? Send it to buycurious [at] eastbayexpress [dot] com
