Normally, we delight in finding ways to get irritated with Oakland Mayor Ron Dellums. So we're distressed to report that he actually did something we approve of, i.e., sending mad love to the righteous McClymonds High boy's b-ball squad, which went undefeated for the first time in, gosh, we can't remember when. According to KCBS, the team got stretch limos and a police escort to a mondo rally, where Dellums personally congratulated them. Of course, the mayor couldn't resist cheapening the civil rights movement by appropriating Martin Luther King's final speech one day after the fortieth anniversary of his assassination. But hey, that's what the man does. Big ups to Big Mac!
