Yesterday, the Oakland Tribune reported, the Don rallied a crew of teachers and parents outside a Concord middle school as part of a new P.R. campaign to highlight the ten percent, across-the-board budget cuts the governor has proposed. See the weeping teachers! Don't blame the Democrats! Think about raising taxes! Of course, Republican legislators are holding fast to their commitment never to raise taxes, and since a two-thirds majority is needed to pass the budget, the Dems won't able to get their tax plan through without cutting a deal.
