Berkeley Sports Complex Back in Court

comment

The legal battle over UC Berkeley's plans to build a $125 million sports and training complex next to Memorial Coliseum, along the Hayward fault, resumes in court today in Hayward. According to today's Oakland Tribune, the court testimony will focus on whether the university properly followed a 1972 law that prohibits certain additions to "existing structures to be built on earthquake faults." The Coliseum runs directly over the fault. The court battle stems from four lawsuits challenging the university's plans, including one filed by the City of Berkeley.
