Since being diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also called Lou Gehrig’s disease, four years ago, Albany resident Brian Hill blogged anonymously about his day-to-day experience with the progressive neuromuscular disease, right up until he died earlier this month, and even postmortem (see headline). According to an article in the Chron the 44-year-old, a former columnist and editor for the Daily Cal, was inspired to start the blog after discovering such a thing didn’t exist and as a support for others. He’s survived by his wife and two kids.
