Over the past year, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency has taken to meddling in a local labor dispute with workplace raids and interrogation of undocumented workers. The agency, which is part of Homeland Security, has shown up on the doorstep of at least one worker fired by the Woodfin Suites, the Emeryville hotel that has been fighting the city’s Measure C for the past two years. Measure C is the living wage ordinance that guarantees hotel workers better working conditions and pay. (See Whose Side Is ICE On?, 11/21/07)
