Pissed as hell about that "C-" marring your DVC transcript? No worries, dude. Just get ahold of, say, $600 and have a student worker hop onto a computer and change your grade, Veronica Mars style. That's what as many as 84 students have done since 2003, campus police told the San Francisco Chronicle -- enabling hundreds upon hundreds of grade alterations. Many of the suspected grade buyers have since transferred to four-year schools (where they're now likely feeding their cash to term-paper-writing services). DVC's campus cops plan to turn the evidence they've collected over to Contra Costa County prosecutors.
Reported the Chron, "The community college now prohibits student workers from changing grades and requires nonstudent employees with access to the database to block changes to their computers when they leave their seats, officials said." Right. And why would student workers ever have been allowed to change grades?!
