Apparently, the big boys at the venerable Oakland ice cream company Dreyer’s have decided that their company needs a new, hip image. So what’s their first move? Hitch their wagon to the star that is American Idol. According to Marketing Daily (and isn’t that a great name for a newsletter?), Dreyer’s has signed a contract to become the official ice cream product of the show. In addition, the company will sell three new Idol-related flavors: Drumstick Diva, Rock ‘n’ Rolo, and Hollywood Cheesecake.
