Berkeley Patients Group, as well as new Oakland dispensary Magnolia Wellness, took home top honors Sunday night at the fourth annual High Times Medical Cannabis Cup San Francisco, held at the Craneway Pavilion in Richmond.
The beloved, besieged Berkeley dispensary took home a first place trophy in the Best Indica category for Girl Scout Cookies, which patients report using for stress. GSC is a vanilla and mint-smelling combination of OG Kush, Cherry Pie, and Durban Poison launched at The Hemp Center in San Francisco.
Soon-to-open Oakland dispensary Magnolia Wellness also won first place for Best Booth. The formerly Sacramento-based club fielded a free Ferris wheel over the weekend, and ran a carnival themed mega-booth featuring performances and speakers in the Cannabis Cup's medication area. Magnolia spokesperson Mickey Martin said Oakland's fourth dispensary should be open in July.
The Cup's thousands of attendees voted for Best Booth and other categories. A panel of select judges had six days to rate the best sativa, hybrid, indica, and hashes. A judge told us the sativa category had 17 entries, while the hashes category had 39.
