You know who could use some medical marijuana education? The San Francisco peninsula, where it's seemingly nothing but dispensary bans from the San Francisco border to San Jose. That's just cruel.
To that end, your humble, ever-faithful Legalization Nation editor is scheduled to speak Saturday, May 18 at 4:40 p.m. in Burlingame, CA. at the International Cannabis and Hemp Expo.
Abbreviated to INTCHE for short, the Expo, held at the Old Hyatt Cinema (1304 Bayshore Hwy), is one of the Bay's classier weed-oriented gatherings, with speakers like Drug Policy Alliance's Amanda Reiman, S.F. attorney Terence Hallinan, and legendary activist Dennis Peron. All of it is emceed by the affable comedian and writer Ngaio Bealum.
Tickets are $15 a day for the mix of speakers, vendors and musical guests which include Bang Data, Lumanation, Jazz Mafia, Afrolicious and Bayonics.
The venue is a 125,000 square-foot outdoor exhibit space with a medical cannabis patient area with permitted 215 consumption (code for "smoke it up!"), book signings, contests, VIP tent and more. We have about 20 minutes to kill on-stage at 4:40 p.m. and we're still working out what to present. It's right after 4:20 p.m., so I might just screen some Spongebob SquarePants.
