.Local Benefit for Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society

A dozen local singer-songwriters have banded together for a benefit for the Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society, whose building caught fire last month and resulted in the deaths of several cats. The adoption offices and hospital are now closed due to lack of water and electricity, and it’s unclear whether (or when) operations will resume. Jim Bruno, Tippy Canoe, Dylan Champagne, Jamie Clark, Val Esway (Loretta Lynch), Hot as Balls, Brian & Sandra Mello (Bellyachers), Joe Rut, Yard Sale, Maurice Tani & Mike Anderson (77 El Deora), The Ukaladies, and others will perform a benefit for the society at the Starry Plough on Sunday, July 11. All funds will go to the Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society. 2-6 p.m., $10 suggested donation.
