Lady Sovereign returned to the Mezzanine last Monday to make up for her crap show, but San Franciscans didn’t let her leave without some good ol’-fashioned taunting. Testing her true MC skills, the crowd began chanting “Battle Jelly Donut” during her set, hoping that the pint-size rapper would take on the unrelenting freestyle flow of a local dude (a.k.a. Andrew Bancroft from the SF comedy sketch group Killing My Lobster) who wears a doughnut outfit and puts many a rapper to shame. But Lady wasn’t having it.
