Slutty girls singing old-timey O Brother Where Art Thou-style songs never gets old. San Francisco female quintet The Whoreshoes understand this innately. Spoon, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, and gravelly country twang define their latest, "Get Lucky," while the album art emphasizes the crotch. For all those times that you want to impress your foreign friends with something real, authentic and weirdly Bay Area - may I recommend a game of Whoreshoes, who get lucky next Thursday, December 21 at 12 Galaxies as part of the SF Bluegrass and Old Time Benefit. Stream some Whoreshoes through their MySpace page. DOWNLOAD THESE: "Nancy Whiskey," "P.B.R." from CD Baby.
