Full of Words

Hailed nationwide for its fresh and compelling contemporary dance, not to mention its high-profile collaborations, Oakland's award-winning AXIS Dance Company went international to create Full of Words, which gets its world premiere Friday through Sunday, Oct. 7-9, at MalongaCasquelourdCenter for the Arts (1428 Alice St., Oakland). AXIS partnered with UK-based choreographer Marc Brew on Words, a suite of duets that explore shared moments and unspoken communication, and the company's first production with a European dance maker. Brew also happens to be paralyzed, which gives him unique creative insight into how the physically integrated company moves.
